Good call on Acid Witch and Hooded Menace.
Both had great vinyl packages, especially the Acid Witch release. The inclusion of the cardboard Halloween decoration was classic - in keeping with the horror theme and with the band's refusal to take itself too seriously.

As a sidenote, I have discovered that my top 5 this year will probably lack growls altoghether and that has not happened since I started doing these lists. Last year, all albums on my top 5 included growls. Has the Extreme Metal scene fallen asleep or have I gone weak?

There were good growls on the Acid Witch, though not as good as on the previous album. Lasse Pyykkö of Hooded Menace did the vocals on that one, and the growls were fantastic.
Other albums with good growls include:
Druid Lord - Hymns For The Wicked
Hooded Menace - Never Cross The Dead
Not sure either of these will make my top 5, but they were good nonetheless.
