This is the first cd by the american band Arctic Flame. The band was founded a couple of years ago by the drammer Mike Paradine and the guitarists Rod Mariani and Don Dioro. The line-up was comlited by vocalist Dave Lowe and bassist Jeff Scott. The aim of the band was to play traditional heavy metal, infuenced by bands like Iron Maiden and Thin Lizzy. After a couple of years and two demos the band gained a contract with Battle Cry records and their first cd "Premeval Aggressor" produced by Jack Frost is ready!

Actric Flame - Premeval Aggressor
Battlecry records

1. Steel Angels
2. The Leveler's Wish
3. The Vanquished
4. Kingdom Of Illusion
5. Misery's Mystery
6. Green Lady Of The Hill
7. Spark Of Ire
8. Battle Of Heaven And Hell

The record musical style is heavy metal with lots of "celtic" guitar riffs, that remind me of Thin Lizzy and Slough Feg. Especially songs like "The Leveler's wish" and "Green Lady of the Hill" could have been recorded by the bands i mentioned. The band has also a lot of ifluences by doom metal, so a some songs are mid-tempo with a mood and doomy atmosphere similar to that Saint Vitus had. The production is quite good and it could have been better if you think that it was done by Jack Frost. However dont consider this as a drawback because the sound and the music mix perfectly. Above all its an exellent heavy metal record, whitch will satisfy all metal friends!

It reads interesting, making me want to check out the band simply due to the comparisons, but the review is a bit very short, I must say... A bit more meat on the bones would be nice.
