In the foreground there's a mage wearing a reddish robe. His left hand is raised in front of his face and holding a glowing sphere with a set number of golden keys inside it. His right hand is near the sphere with fingers outstretched and as if he's casting a spell there's stardust between his hand and the sphere. The mage's face is completely shadowed so there's just a big dark spot where his face should be. The mage himself is in a room inside some medieval looking structure. On his right side (left in the cover) is a glassless window and out of it there's a view of a lake and cliffs surrounding it. On the left side of the mage there's some demon-like creatures hiding in the shadows. Band title in the top left and the album title in the bottom left.

Man do I write long and elaborate descriptions... B) [/quote]
Ah the 'set number of keys' part helped me make a good guess. Helloween - Keeper Of The Seven Keys part 1.

No band name or album title on the cover. The bottom third of the album looks like the countryside, with brownish grass on the ground. On the ground a man in hat, coat and tails rides an old fashioned bike, the kind with a large front weel and small back wheel. The sky beyond the man is all grey stormclouds.

Arena - The Visitor (brilliant cover by Hugh Syme)

Band name and album title are centred in the top. The cover itself shows a ship, a big sailing one, with the sails in tatters, cutting through heavy sea, the background showing dark clouds on the perimeter and in the centre, behind the ship it looks like fire.

it is black on the left and right edges but the middle background is tan/brown and like the texture of a cracked mud wall....

the main feature is a sketch of a naked lady sitting on a pillar with her back to us...her hair is in a bun....

above her and to the right is a drawing of a sea shell in a frame....it is white and red....

there is also a white circle that goes around the whole image and its broken in pieces...

band name is on the top left and the name of the cd is on the bottom right on its side in the black part....

Is this another Aussie band only few people know? Maybe you could give a hint?

Nightwish - Wishmaster

The band name is centered at the top and the album title is on the bottom right. The picture is dominated by an unnaturally red sky that goes a little more than half way down the pic. In the foreground there's a dried up lake with only a little patch of water and in the water is a small boat with a man sitting in it, looking away from the viewer into the horizon. There's a darker line between the dry sand of the lake and the red sky and also a mountain range in the far distance, also painted red. The sun can also be seen on the right hand side but it's color is more purple, like ultraviolet.

Anathema - A Natural Disaster

The band logo is on the middle section of the cover, but on the right, and is written in Red. The main colour of the album cover is blue. The centerpiece of the cover looks to be a crucified man, wearing black pants. However this man is slightly translucent and his face looks skeletal. Directly behind his head are two more skeletal heads one facinf left, once facing right. Both look as they are screaming. Because this man is translucent, his spinal cord is visible, so are some of the bones in his arm. However, you can still see that the man's arms are covered in tattooes. His is wearing several pendants, and a few "finger shields". The album title is not on the cover.

Hint: This is this man's solo project after his incredibly influencial first band.

Alright, you have had more than your two days on this one Pagan. Time to swap it methinks.

It's dark. We are looking out into space from what looks a cold and barren planet. A huge rocky escarpment frames the starry night sky on the left, it has scars and strata marks on it, and what looks like some snow. Lower down, the ground looks very dark and it is hard to make out any features other than rocks and darkness. Top right is a geometrically designed 'eye' motif, which has a supernova right in the centre. Band name two thirds of the way down from the top, all capitals, centred. Album title underneath in smaller letters, right aligned, also in capitals.

That'd be Arcturus - The Sham Mirrors

Dark background, looks like rock to the left. In the centre is a sphere, with colours of dark green, brown and black. The sphere is made up of what looks like cogs and gears. Band name is across the sphere in white, inside a kind of cylinder shape. Album title in the bottom left, printed in white.

Err sorry this one is hard to describe.
Hint: The band name is part of a biblical story.
