I am collecting old and rare books ..it is one of my biggest hobbies besides listening to music. :D

I started with poetic books ..my first book was THE DIVINE COMEDY of Dante Aligheri. I was in York and I visited a second-hand bookshop and I was so enthusiastic about it so I decided to collect old books. It's a beautiful hobbie :)

At the time I am collecting books about philosophy of the antiquity and of the middle age and facsimiles of old hand writings. My biggest bargain of the last months was THE CLOISTERS APOCALYPSE ..a beautiful book, a american guy sold me this one for 15 $ ..in germany it costs nearly 90 €
But I haven't a photo yet ..maybe I'll shot one next time

here are some photos of THE POETIC OF ARISTOTELES ..it's pressed in 1860

Cool hobby, can get heavy though ;)

We don't collect old books per say but Alex's mom has a really old bible, I always wondered how much that is worth.

If you have luck you can get very old and expensive books for little money ..I haven't so much luck sometimes
At zvab.com there are thousands of books less than 5 € up to more than 2000 € . Sometimes people selling expensive books for a little money, cause they don't know what they're holding in their hands. I wish I could find someone like that every once in a while.
My teacher is a lucky fellow. In his youth he helped with some others to clean an old church and everybody get money for this, but he didn't choose money, he choose only a old book he saw at the attic as a reward for his helping. Everbody laughs at him, but this book is over 400 years old and has a value of more than 10.000 Euros
He's knowing the rules of this game lol

P.S.: sorry for my ugly dictionary english ^_^

I love old books, I collect old mysticsm and occultism books, you just can't beat the old paper styles and the leatherbound books.

I made some photographys of the treasure of my book collection. It's the Cloister's Apocalypse, a handwriting of the early 14th Century. It's a facsimile published in 1971 by the Metropolitan Museum Of Art, New York. I am very happy about this book, it's very beautiful. :)
