"To The Metal" is quite good, but, I too, always expect better from Gamma Ray.

Between the new Overkill, Fear Factory, and Arsis I'm thinking 2010 is starting off to a killer start.

After the atrocity that is Heretic I hold little hope for much from Trey and crew. Hopefully they surprise me, but at least we have the back catalog.

As a whole it was garbage, broken down there were definitely some good songs.

Well considering the last album MA put out with Dave was the disastrous Domination, I don't know how quality their new album may be.

Disatrous, eh? Hmm... Nope, I'm afraid you sir are incorrect. Definitely a stylistic shift (as was Covenant), but easily better than the Tucker era.

Domination was more like a commercial stab than a "progression". They were on a big label, and I guess that just caused their songwriting skills to go down the crapper.

I'm not much for the Tucker era, largely because of his vocals. Some of the music on Formulas is all right though. Concerning Morbid Angel I stick to the first 3 albums and of course Abominations of Desolation.

Call it a fluke then, I still think Domination is rubbish.

Have I ever told you that you suck? If not, then, you suck! I love "Domination", and consider it one of my favorite death metal albums.

Sorry, but I thought the new Sigh was a huge disappointment, and I consider myself a borderline fanboy. It didn't come close to the standard set by Hangman's Hymn. I think Mirai got too bogged down in composing for a full chamber orchestra, and lost sight of writing good music.

Hopefully, this was just a learning stage, and the next abum will return them to greatness. Mikannibal's presence is an excellent addition, but was not enough to save this one.
